President’s Advisory Council Guidelines
Duties of President’s Advisory Council (PAC) Members
The Council is best
served by regular attendance, therefore, attendance is expected and
substitutes are not permitted. Members are expected to be conversant
with issues and to engage in discussion and express judgment in a
professional and respectful manner. Members are responsible for
communicating with their respective constituencies about the work of
the Council
To facilitate the work
of the Council, committees with specific responsibilities and
membership may be established or disbanded as the Council determines.
Agenda Items
Agenda items may be
submitted by a Council member to the Office of the President with
sufficient lead time to permit distribution to members prior to the
meeting.
Normal procedure shall
preclude action on any item unless it has been formally placed on the
agenda for a first and second reading. However, in cases of urgency
the rule may be suspended if no objection is voiced.
Meetings
Regular meetings of
the Council shall be scheduled on the second and fourth Wednesdays of
each month from September through April. Typically, the meeting
schedule in May moves to a weekly schedule. The normal meeting time
shall be 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Meeting dates and times shall be
published and take into consideration the school breaks and legal
holidays.
Council meetings are
open to any member of the campus community.
Minutes
Minutes of the Council
meetings will be taken and are subject to review and approval by the
Council. Official/approved minutes will be posted on the campus web
page.
